Holiday Home in France - All Holiday Rental in France

Our holiday home rentals in France are steadily growing and we have holiday villas and holiday homes from Brittany to Paris to the South of France, the Côte d'Azur. Many of our holiday home owners in France speak good English and will be able to help you decide which villa to rent.

The Côte d'Azur (blue coast) or French Riviera is situated in the Provence region of France on the South east coast and on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Its total length is around 70 miles (110 kms) and runs from St Tropez in the west, to Italy in the east. The major places of interest along the coast include St Tropez, St Raphael, Cannes, Antibes, Juan les Pins, Nice, Villefranche sur Mer, Beaulieu, Monaco, and Monte Carlo - it is impossible to be bored on this magnificent coast line and some of the holiday villas are truly spectacular, enough to make even a millionaire jealous.

You will need a car if you travel between cities (or even villas for a 2 villa holiday) in France, unless taking the train appeals. Trains in France are generally fast, clean, and modern, but you have to observe a schedule. Also remember that motorways in France are mostly toll roads, don't get caught out! However, they are in really good shape and offer frequent rest areas with services, children areas, food and drinks, and attractions during the summer. It's always good to have safe areas to relax at. The speed limit is higher too (around 81 mph) and makes it easier to reach your holiday home in France much faster.

Cannes, 30 minutes away from Nice, is a very nice, smaller city with nice sandy beaches, nice expensive hotels, and "summer" attractions to please everybody - we have at least one holiday rental villa in Cannes, France. It's quietly paced and relaxing. It's hard to have bad food in the restaurants lining up the beach front - hard, but not impossible.

Continuing west is St Tropez, the famous village where many international stars (like Bridget Bardot, now looking like a relief map of the Andes) live on secluded properties in the surrounding hills, or on the water. St. Tropez is basically a village, extremely popular and expensive with little streets and a number of attractions. Lots of restaurants and bars, a marina full of huge yachts on which the owners' and friends parade in front of the tourists passing by - quite a spectacle! The extravagant yachts are worth seeing, and you can then spend an afternoon on the pristine sandy beaches.

It's a place to see and be seen, yet it remains an interesting place to visit with it's classic village architecture. Parking can be hard and expensive, but once parked, it's easy to move around by foot. St. Tropez also has a vast array of holiday villas and apartments to rent.

At Nice the beaches are rock not sand and are often very crowded without any privacy. Nice is possibly the cheapest place to rent a villa or apartment, with St. Tropez and Monaco the most expensive.

In essence, schedule a stroll along the front in both Nice and Cannes, and check out the harbour in St. Tropez. Lots of little cafes line the streets and for a truly French experience, stop off for coffee and an afternoon crepe. If you have not yet had a crepe, you are in for a treat because the French know what they are doing when it comes to good food.

When you rent your private holiday home in France you may want to ask the owners if there are any local restaurants they can recommend - holiday home owners tend to know the best places to eat!
